Peggy Ahwesh came of age with Super8 film, feminism and 1970’s punk. Her art production consists of films, videos and music.  A few notable screenings include: Whitney Biennials 1991, 1995, 2002International Festival of Films by Women, Creteil, France and Big As Life: A History of American 8mm Films at MoMA. Ahwesh had a mid-career retrospective Girls Beware! at the Whitney Museum in their New American Film &Video Series and received the Alpert Award in the Arts for Film in 2000.
